A tax receipt will be issued for donations of $25 or more. We issue tax receipts in batches twice a year.

When donating by post, please send us your email address so we can keep in touch. We can also send your receipt by email and save on the costs associated with snail mail.

Did you know that you can donate stocks/equities directly to CanAssist?  Donors receive a tax receipt for the market value of the stock at the time of transfer and donation of the equity to a registered charity foregoes the necessity to pay capital gains.  Double savings for the donor and good for the charity as well. We do our best to keep administration expenses to a minimum. Our main costs are postage, bank charges, exchange rates and internet fees. All of our Canadians work and travel at their own expense.  The majority of our money is spent in Africa.  This means that most of your donation will go directly to help these communities in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.
